Verde River Citizens Alliance Meeting Sat. Oct. 18 at 9 a.m.
By Christopher Hulse

Find out about the role of Verde Valley citizens in the future of the Verde River, Oct. 18 at the Verde River Citizens Alliance monthly general meeting. Dist.1 Representative Tom O'Halleran will speak on "Issues for the Verde River."

O'Halleran will discuss political issues and actions affecting water in our area. As chairman of the Committee for Natural Resources, Agriculture, Water and Native American Affairs, he has dedicated himself to helping state legislators understand more fully the issues involving water in Arizona today.

He has a unique role as a communication link informing the rest of the state about our needs and informing us about how our needs are perceived outside our area. This is an opportunity to participate in the political process by finding out what we can do to communicate our needs.

The meeting will start at 9 a.m. at the Verde Greenway Studio, Dead Horse Ranch State Park. Admission to the park is free for those attending the meeting. Ask at the gatehouse for directions.

The Verde River Citizens Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to protecting the Verde River and its watershed. For more information view the VRCA Web site at www.verderivervrca.org or call 649-2422.
